Across the remnants of a broken world hangs the Ashen Veil: a shroud preserving what should have faded long ago. Memories crumble, ancient promises become chains, and far beneath the surface, the captive Hollow Sun awaits.

You are a Keeper. From Last Furrow, a final refuge on the surface, your descent begins.

ASHEN VEIL is an original dark fantasy action RPG for the Game Boy Advance, combining stamina-based Soulslike combat, procedural exploration, and character progression in a world that reveals its history piece by piece.

Every attack is a decision

Watch your enemies, read their movements, and choose your moment. Attacking, dodging, and defending demand careful stamina management. Strike recklessly, and you may leave yourself with nothing when the next blow comes.

Block incoming attacks, time your parries, and punish openings with decisive counterattacks. Wield melee weapons, bows, and magic to carve your own path through the depths.

Your origin is only a beginning. Start as a Knight, Bandit, or Archer, then shape your character through attributes and equipment. Your starting class does not permanently restrict your playstyle.

Nine depths. Nine faces of a broken world.

Your journey leads through nine distinct biomes spanning 225 rooms. Beyond forgotten borderlands lie overgrown gardens, buried wealth, burned-out sanctuaries, and places where even memory can no longer be trusted.

The world is procedurally generated, but every depth has its own identity. Listen for a sequence of bells, redirect waterways, or balance immense counterweights. The obstacles change with each place—as do the stories behind them.

Explore side paths, unseal hidden passages, and search for concealed rewards. Face nine bosses and nine distinctive minibosses whose attack patterns demand more than brute force. Learn their movements, read their warnings, and find your opening.

Between descents, there is Last Furrow

Not every battle is prepared for with a weapon drawn.

Return to Last Furrow to improve your equipment at the blacksmith, grow plants, and use alchemy to prepare for the journey ahead. Decide where to invest your hard-earned Essence—and how much you are willing to risk when you venture down again.

Death does not end your journey. But the Essence you leave behind makes returning to the place where you fell a challenge of its own.

ASHEN VEIL is in active development and may change drasticly in parts. It is a fun project by a single developer. A compatible GBA emulator or suitable GBA hardware with a compatible cartridge is required to play. Hardware and save compatibility depend on the cartridge used; universal compatibility is not guaranteed.
